Albert Turkington was born in Cookstown, County Tyrone. Official records state that SS Jacona was sunk on 12th August 1915 when it struck a mine and sank 25 miles North/North West of Troup Head near Fraserburgh, Bannfshire, with a loss of 29 crew, including Albert Turkington.
