Summary      
Brown Vance was the son of Mrs Marshall of Killyfaddy, Magherafelt. He enlisted in Cookstown under an assumed name, Patrick McFalls, and served with the 9th Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was killed in action during the Battle of Langemarck (Third Battle of Ypres) on 16th August 1917, age 21. He has no known grave and is commemorated on panel 140-141 at Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
