Summary      
John Orr was the son of Samuel and Evelyn May Orr. He was born about 1921. He had links to Pomeroy. John Orr was based with the Royal Air at Lough Erne, which was the largest flying boat base during the Second World War. On 30th December 1942, Pilot John Orr’s Catalina became lost in bad weather, and at 5:15pm, crashed 17 miles north-west of Omagh. It flew into Reaghan Hill in greatly reduced visibility. All on board the aircraft were killed.
