Summary      
Robert Falls was a son of John and Margaret Falls of Blue Doors, Coolkeeghan, Cookstown. Robert enlisted in 1903 and had served for a time in China. He was a life long friend of Private William Nixon. The two friends were almost the same age and lived next door to each other. Tragically they died on the same day. His younger brother, Samuel was killed in action while serving with the Scots Guards on 27th September 1915 at the Battle of Loos.

Summary      
La Ferte-sous-Jouarre is a small town 66 kilometres to the east of Paris, located on the main road (N3) running east from Paris. The Memorial is situated in a small park on the south-western edge of the town, on the south bank of the River Marne, just off the main road to Paris, The Memorial Register is kept at the Town Hall.
