The tablet in Kildress Parish Church in memory of the men from the parish who had fallen in the war was unveiled by Lady Muriel Close. The rector, the Rev C A B Millington, B.A., conducted the service; the lessons were read by Major Close, D.L., and the sermon was delivered by the Rev John Thom, M.C. The men who fell were Robert Montgomery, William N Thom, Ernest Creighton and James Ferson.
