Patrick O誰eill was the son of Edward and Sarah O誰eill. Patrick was born on 26th May 1882 in Coagh. The family lived in Coagh and his father was a stone mason. Patrick O誰eill spent seven years with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers before emigrating to America. Prior to enlisting, Patrick was living with his wife Fannie at 62 Essex Street, Andover, Massachusetts, U.S.A. He was working as a labourer. Patrick travelled to Canada and enlisted in Montreal on 3rd October 1917. On 26th August 1918, the Canadian Corps, including the 24th Battalion, recaptured the area. Private Patrick O誰eill was seriously wounded during the taking of Wancourt.

Patrick O誰eill was the son of Edward and Sarah O誰eill. Edward O誰eill married Sarah Mallon/Mellon on 28th November 1878 in the district of Cookstown.
Patrick was born on 26th May 1882 in Coagh. He was one of at least nine children.

The 1901 census lists Patrick as age at 17, living with the family at house 37 in Great Georges Street, Coagh. Patrick was a labourer. His father and elder brother were stone masons.

The town of Wancourt was captured on 12th April 1917 after very heavy fighting and the advance was continued in the following days. The area then fell into German hands in March 1918, during the Spring Offensive.
On 26th August 1918, the Canadian Corps, including the 24th Battalion, recaptured the area. Private Patrick O誰eill was seriously wounded during the taking of Wancourt and died of his wounds the next day.
The Canadian Circumstances of Death Register records that Private O誰eil was killed in action on 27th August 1918. His unit was involved in an attack from south east of Wancourt to Cherisy.
Private Patrick O誰eill is buried in Wancourt British Cemetery, France.
