Summary      
Thomas was born in Cookstown in the summer of 1894. He had just turned twenty when he was killed in action on 16th September 1914 having been in the army for little over a year. When Thomas enlisted, he joined the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers under number 11376 but subsequently transferred to the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

La Ferte-sous-Jouarre is a small town 66 kilometres to the east of Paris, located on the main road (N3) running east from Paris. The Memorial is situated in a small park on the south-western edge of the town, on the south bank of the River Marne, just off the main road to Paris, The Memorial Register is kept at the Town Hall.
