Alan Bayne was the son of William James Bayne, and Mrs. Selina Bayne, of Tinwald, Canterbury, New Zealand and formerly of Moneymore. Alan Bayne served with the Royal Navy. He was based at H.M.S. Condor, a Royal Naval Air Station at Arbroath Alan Bayne died while in service on 17th February 1943, aged 23. He died in an air crash.
