Memorial History
Kildress Church of Ireland is just off the Cookstown-Omagh Road, some six miles from Cookstown.
‘To the Glory of God in loving memory of those from this parish who fell in action in the Great War 1914-1918.’
‘Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.’
From the Mid Ulster Mail dated Saturday 24th November 1945: 25 Years Ago – 27th November 1920
The tablet in Kildress Parish Church in memory of the men from the parish who had fallen in the war was unveiled by Lady Muriel Close. The rector, the Rev C A B Millington, B.A., conducted the service; the lessons were read by Major Close, D.L., and the sermon was delivered by the Rev John Thom, M.C. The men who fell were Robert Montgomery, William N Thom, Ernest Creighton and James Ferson.
